Sachin immigrated to Georgia from India as a child and has lived there ever since. Throughout his career, he has fought discrimination and advocated for Georgians. In 2011, he helped to lead the challenge against Republicans’ discriminatory redistricting plans on behalf of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials, and members of the NAACP.
Sachin’s parents relied on MARTA to commute to their hourly jobs and support their family. That’s why he is committed to expanding transit and building an economy that works for the middle class. He is also a cancer survivor, a husband to an amazing wife, and a father to two wonderful children. Sachin will fight to ensure that every Georgian has a strong safety net that includes healthcare and childcare.
Donald Trump’s White House is already hurting Georgians. House District 89 needs a progressive champion with the life experience and professional skills to challenge Trump and the Republican establishment.
